BEAUTY

‘A quiet beauty was in her eyes. Her thoughts were delicate petals.
And together they made her - a rose.’

A Enigma of Beauty

What is beauty? What makes us, and the world, beautiful?

The quest to define beauty, to unearth its essence, is a journey that spans the depths of human perception. For some, beauty stands as a mere construct, defined by its physical attributes, a symmetry of form, harmony of colour, and pleasing aesthetics that enchant the eye. To others beauty is a necessity that it inspires and motivates human life. Beauty weaves through life's tapestry as an irreplaceable force, an enigmatic power that ignites passion and drives human existence.

However, for me, beauty is far from a mere definition; it is a profound sensation, an ethereal energy that courses through my being. It is an embodiment of emotions and sentiments, a symphony of the heart that knows no boundaries. I can feel beauty as it flows within me, a gentle, ever-present current that stirs my very soul. It is a force that touches my heart when I glimpse the exposed vulnerability in someone's eyes or witness acts of boundless love and kindness. My own beauty surges within me as I peer deeply into another's eyes, a reflection of their inner world. I sense it when I gaze upon the intricate petals of a rose, as though the flower's essence resonates with my own. When the wind rustles through the leaves on the trees, I am enveloped by beauty's gentle embrace. It unfurls before me, unveiling a realm of infinite possibilities and connecting me to a divine power, greater and more profound than my solitary existence. For many of us, nature's beauty has always held the power to captivate and unite us in its profound embrace.

Within the grand tapestry of life, every woman is, at her core, a unique and resplendent flower—a bloom ever unfolding, each delicate petal representing a dance of expansion and contraction.

Many of us aspire to possess beauty, shaped by the belief that physical allure sets us apart, promises love, and paves the path to a 'better life.' However, as we traverse the vast terrain of womanhood, we embark on a journey toward an inner beauty—an elegance, a grace, and a heart overflowing with boundless compassion.

By conventional standards, I am what most would deem physically 'beautiful.' Yet, the more I delve into life's intricacies, the more evident it becomes that the physical aspect of a woman's beauty often engenders division, separation, and judgment. In my quest to mould my face and body into the mould of mainstream, unattainable perfection, the less 'beautiful' I feel. The pursuit lacks authenticity, sincerity, and originality. My most profound sense of beauty emerges when I am a vessel of love and generosity, experienced most intensely in the embrace of someone who glimpses the depths of my heart. This, for me, embodies true beauty—a sacred expression of my inner self, my authentic truth, and the divine artistry of femininity. Our faces merely serve as windows, opening and closing doors to our inner humanity. I yearn for more people to peer inside, to discern our authentic beauty, to traverse beyond the surface and unearth the finest facets of what defines us.
